Register your child for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten our free year-round early literacy program for all children from birth to the summer before Kindergarten.
The goal is to read, you guessed it, 1,000 books before to Kindergarten! This sounds like an impossible feat; however, if you read one book every day that is 365 books. If you read two a day, that's 730! And yes, you can read the same book more than once! This fun and simple program is designed to help you connect with your child over a love of books. Welcome to the program! Stop by the library and let us know you've signed up. You'll be given a a registration prize and your reading logs. Bring in proof of South Holland residency to also receive your child's first library card! Ages 0 and up are now eligible for a South Holland Library Card!
