Processing Request
The South Holland Library is happy to accept donations of books, magazines, DVDs and Blu-rays.
Please note that these items should be in newer, gently used, and good condition.
** Please limit your gently used items to 1 box/bag per household per week. **
We will not accept donations of:
- Encyclopedias or other multi-volume reference sets or general reference type material more than 3 years old
- VHS videos, Books on CD, Music CDs and Computer software
- Textbooks, school library discards or other public library discards
- Items that are damp or show signs of mold and mildew
- Items that are musty, soiled, damaged, stained, yellowed or odoriferous
- Items/bags/boxes of materials that are insect infested or contain insect residue
The library reserves the right to refuse items that do not meet the above criteria.
Micro Pantry Donations
A micro pantry is a small outdoor cabinet that allows people to receive donations from the community anonymously - neighbors helping neighbors!
This free, 24/7 donation center offers families in need canned food, toiletries, diapers, non-perishables, and more.
Our micro pantry is located outside of our West entrance.
We accept the following types of donations to the micro pantry:
- Dry goods
- Canned food Items
- Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, menstrual hygiene products, and diapers)
- Warming items (gloves and socks)
We ask that you please refrain from putting items that require refrigeration into the pantry, even if the outdoor temperature is cool.
